With 2 million votes “I want to focus on my professional aspirations now,” she said, “political aspirations can wait, but am not averse to the idea – Kosmoderma Founder Chytra Anand
The King and his Queens
Shah Rukh Khan, who arrived rather early for ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani’s annual calendar launch in Mumbai, said he was completely floored by all the ladies in the pictures, most of whom he had had the privilege of romancing onscreen.
When Singh met Bachchan
Socialite Leena Singh’s son Tanvir is elated— his latest advertisement with Amitabh Bachchan for a bank has made people sit up and take note of him. Like his predecessors, Singh too announced that “it was a humbling experience to share screen space with Bachchan Sr”. The sentiment has now become rote with all those who work with the legendary actor. But one cannot disagree when Singh whe he says: “Its not everyday a kid gets to work with the legend himself.” The duo spent about two and half hours shooting for the advertisement, and Singh’s still dazed by Bachchan’s friendly and no-airs demeanour. Singh has been working in numerous ads and a few films in the past one year. He’s now gearing up for the release of One By Two, where he plays a cameo. But for now, he can’t stop gushing about his star-studded experience.
Beauty and the aam aadmi
The new year began with a bang for dermatologist Chytra Anand. She was felicitated as India’s most respected cosmetic dermatologist at the 6th Annual Pharmaceutical Leadership Summit & Pharmaleaders Business Leadership Awards 2013. The lady with skin as smooth as a baby’s bottom garnered 2 million votes. With those kind of numbers in play she can easily contest and win elections in this country. Mayank Gandhi, national executive member, AAP, must’ve thought in a similar vein. He apparently told her: “From one aam aadmi to another. It’s people like us who are taking the nation ahead.” Mmm…is the lady harbouring any political aspirations? “I want to focus on my professional aspirations now,” she said, “political aspirations can wait, but am not averse to the idea.” Now, that’s a politician in the making.
Biwi ho to aisi
Yesterday, a fit and healthy looking Stuart Binny was seen slogging at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The middle-order batsman has been practising vigorously ever since his selection into the Indian team for the upcoming ODI series in New Zealand. Look at this picture. Can you believe that Binny was overweight just a few months ago? Apparently, wife Mayanti has been cracking the whip on her husband to shape up and look toned for the national team. Seems like behind this fit man is a disciplinarian wife.
Art fare
While Goa was still recovering from the various New Year eve bashes, the party capital of the country witnessed a rather chic affair the following night. Delhi-based artist Subodh Gupta, along with his artist-wife Bharti Kher, hosted a private sit-down dinner on a barge, to celebrate his 50th birthday on the 1st of this month. Spotted enjoying the scrumptious fare (Gupta, we learn, is a major foodie) were his family and friends from the art fraternity including, Peter Nagy, Bose Krishnamachari, Ranbir Kaleka, Arani Bose as well as collector and entrepreneur Rajshree Pathy. With his first major retrospective at Delhi’s National Gallery of Modern Art opening on the 16th (collectors from all over the world have loaned some of his most important works for the show), there is more reason for Gupta to celebrate. Here’s raising a toast to the much-feted artist.
