Despite Rahul Gandhi’s Healthcare Plans, Indian Healthcare Access is still a distant reality!
In a very angry tone, sauchand tells me that you could send our message to Rahul Gandhi and Narinder Modi, who are fighting hard for elections. They promise enough to get votes but in reality they do nothing good for us, he says. We don’t get to see them when elections are over. There are many others like Sauchand who are left into destitution due to a lack of government apathy. Getting healthcare services have always been difficult for them. Experts says India need to increase its healthcare expenditure which is lowest in the world, on the other hand they say aid programs meant for poor are beset by rising corruption and poor administration in the country. India has seen a rapid growth over the past decade but many poor people living below the poverty line are the most vulnerable to diseases as they continue to live on the streets and insanitary conditions. They are further burdened by having to pay for healthcare which most of them can’t afford and in most cases they end up losing their loved ones.
