Coming from a non-filmy background & making a debut in movie is not a simple task & specially in today’s world where recommendation or the privilege of being a star kids or having a God-father gives you an added advantage & no matter how talented you are, it takes big courage & patience to make the presence felt.

Actress Pooja Sree is one of those actress who is trying to make a difference to the likes of Kangana Ranaut, Vidya Balan or Meena Kumari whose acting skill overshadowed the rest. Pooja is confident to be in that leap.

“I enjoy acting. Acting is in my blood, it is in my genes, it is in my DNA and you can see that on screen I like doing different roles. I can’t do just those films where I am looking pretty and sing and dance around trees. I want to act in a substantial role” says Pooja Sree in a candid talk to the Editor-Entertainment of Indian Affairs. Ten years back the perception was Indian cinema was only about auteurs like Satyajit Ray and Mrinal Sen but in the last ten years the tide turned to the opposite. “Now, it is largely about Bollywood and we are forgetting the great tradition of the 50s and 60s. You have to let go of what could have been, how you should have acted and what you wish you would have said differently. You have to accept that you can’t change the past experiences, opinions of others at that moment in time or outcomes from their choices or yours. When you finally recognize that truth then you will understand the true meaning of forgiveness of yourself and others. From this point you will finally be free.

“Lack of confidence, sometimes alternating with unrealistic dreams of heroic success, often leads to procrastination, and many studies suggest that procrastinators are self-handicappers: rather than risk failure, they prefer to create conditions that make suc
